Justin Cuff, M.D.

Justin is a physician leader and board certified pathologist with over 10 years of experience dedicated to advancing primary diagnosis to improve patient care. He currently serves as the CEO of Peninsula Pathologists where he has led lifescience partnerships and built a team of world-class pathologists and laboratory professionals, who are driven to provide diagnostic expertise, service innovation and patient centered results. Justin also serves as the laboratory medical director of the histology core lab located in South San Francisco.  Justin holds active medical staff appointments at: Mills Peninsula Medical Center, San Mateo County Hospital and Clinics, Sequoia Hospital and Palo Alto Medical Foundation.

Prior to leading the group, Justin served as a staff pathologist signing out general surgical pathology. He founded the clinical flow cytometry lab and has held numerous hospital leadership positions including: pathology department chair for Sutter Health Mills Peninsula Medical Center, where he also served as the chair of the continuing medical education committee.

Justin completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency and surgical pathology fellowship at Stanford. While at Stanford he participated in translational research in the laboratory of Jon Pollack which allowed him to contribute to several peer reviewed publications. During his fellowship training he participated in the Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Justin grew up in Brooklyn and attended medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. Justin is a passionate jazz collector with a particular focus on the 50-60’s, a time that coincides with the widespread adoption of the LP. This provided an amazing opportunity to document a dynamic and exciting time in music (one that parallels 19th century Vienna) marked by immense creativity in musical composition and design. Since he wasn’t in New York at the time, the second best way to experience the music is on vinyl with low powered tube amps. Oh, he also collects Nebbiolo.
