Sebastian Sasu, M.D.
Dr. Sebastian Sasu is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology. Prior to joining Peninsula Pathologists Medical Group, Sebastian was the Pathology Department Chair and Anatomic Pathology Medical director of the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Ashby and Summit campuses in Berkeley and Oakland, since 2016. Sebastian has a broad range of experience and expertise in both anatomic and clinical pathology, ancillary diagnostic tools such as flow cytometry, fluorescence in situ hybridization and molecular testing, as well as laboratory-based research and biomarker development.
Sebastian completed his anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Southern California LAC+USC medical center, and a hematopathology fellowship at UCLA, working with renown hematopathologists such as Bharat Nathwani, Russel K. Brynes and Jonathan Said.
Sebastian resides in San Francisco’s vibrant Mission District, with his wife and two daughters (one of which is currently off to college). He loves the outdoors, Chinese martial arts, live music (including opera and musicals), good food and wine.
